Juno's First Photo Shoot

Juno had her first photo shoot this week for Cinco de Mayo photos to share on their Instagram page and she handled it a lot better than I expected!  I think having to give her medicine twice a day for four weeks (she had a minor fungal infection) helped developed some trust between the two of us.  She's a smart cookie and knows she's not in danger with me around.  Unfortunately, the cute sombrero (leftover from our fiesta-themed engagement party two years ago) was a little too big for her but that didn't stop her curiosity.  When I first put it on her, she managed to walk right through the chin strap and shimmied out of it!  But she was happy enough to sniff it out and pose beside it for a few photos.

Gia, on the other hand, has become quite the professional guinea pig model.  I didn't even need to bribe her with blueberries this time!  I just put her in place, put the sombrero on, and picked up my iPhone for photos.  She looked right at me and held her pose until I put the phone down.  Someone is definitely used to the camera by now. :)

I'm hoping to get a few more photos of Juno over the weekend to do an "official" introduction here on the blog.  She's quite the funny little piggy and she has brought out a whole new playful side of Gia that we haven't seen since Molly's passing.  The two of them are fast on their way to becoming guinea pig besties and I can't wait to share more of her story with you.  She's such a sweetheart and, according to our vet, Juno had a "rough start to life" and is "lucky" to have us, but I'm realizing more and more each day that we are the lucky ones to have her.

  1. so cute! Glad to see that you guys and Gia are starting to feel a little better since Molly's passing :)

  2. Your gorgeous piggies! I love the sombrero picks :) Thanks for sharing and making me smile this Friday afternoon :)

  3. Oh what a cutie! She looks like she's settling in with you all just fine
