Family Photos with the Piggies

Last weekend, we set the camera up on the tripod, grabbed my little remote, and had a mini-family photo session with the piggies.  I wasn't going for anything fancy, just pictures of the four of us together which, up to this point, we didn't have.  Molly is still in good spirits and enjoying all her playtime and treats, but the lumps in her lymph nodes are noticeably larger.  She doesn't seem to be bothered by it at all, though.  She's a tough little cookie.  But I know it means our time with her is limited so I wanted to take advantage of her good mood and cuddly attitude while I could and get some cute photos - because I definitely don't have enough already!

We tried to switch off and have The Husband hold Molly for a bit but she immediately ran back over to my lap!  She's a bit of a mama's girl, I guess.

My hair's a mess and the photo kind of looks like a high school senior portrait but Molly is just too cute for me to care about any of that.

I love these because this is one of Molly's favorite ways to cuddle.  She snuggles up on my chest when I'm laying down and rests her little head for some scratches.  If I put my hand out to her, she happily gives me little guinea pig kisses, too.

Her fave spot to be pet - top of the head/nose!

Since we did the photos later in the afternoon, we were losing light pretty quickly.  So we took the piggies out again the next day to get some photos of the two of them just playing together.  They remind me so much of a typical human sister relationship - one minute they're sharing toys and the next, one of them runs off with the favorite toy and won't let the other touch it!  It's very entertaining watching the two of them together and I'm glad we were able to capture some of it on camera.

Tug-of-war for the corn husk chew toy!

  1. These are so precious! What a beautiful idea. Some of my favourite photos are of me with the pets my family has had over the years. Me learning to crawl by following our cat around. Me safely surrounded by two German Shepherds and a Burmese cat while Mum is hanging out washing. Me with my gorgeous old terrier Tex. And now, me with my Molly in all her tri-pawed Malamute glory :)

  2. Awww buddies, they look so adorable! And you two looks quite wonderful as well. I'd love to do a photo session with my "pet" but have yet to find myself a patient enough photographer who knows what to do with such a large subject
