A Memory of Venice

"venice italy"

Rain pitter-patters on the rooftop.
Salty sea smells fill the air.
Paesans drift by, wading through flooded sidewalks from one shop to the next.
Street merchants hawk their wares as tourists huddle under umbrellas.
November winds numb exposed fingers and cheeks.
Nothing a steamy cappuccino can't fix.

  1. I've never been to Venice...I didn't realize the sidewalks became flooded and you had to wade through! Interesting....
