Molly was pretty groggy from the drugs and pain meds when we picked her up Friday afternoon (left). Just two days later, she's bright-eyed and munching on fresh spinach (right).
Thank you all so much for your kind words, positive thoughts, healing vibes, and caring prayers for our little Molly-pie. The first two days post-surgery were pretty tough for Molly. She was visibly in pain on Saturday, despite her pain meds, and barely moved all day. Even simple things like peeing were hurting her (I almost started crying when I saw her shaking and whimpering while trying to pee) but by yesterday evening, she showed some definite signs of improvement. She began eating on her own, moving around the cage a bit, and responding to us when we talked to her or pet her. This morning, she popped right out of her igloo when I approached the cage and had lots more piggy purrs and squeals of delight when I gave her some strawberries & spinach for breakfast. She continues to amaze me with so much strength and resilience in such a little animal. It's truly amazing the difference a few days can make for recovery. We're expecting the test results regarding the tumor sometime today or tomorrow. Now we're just crossing our fingers the tumor was benign so Molly can finally be a happy, healthy guinea pig once again. :)
