Red Envelope & The Empire State Building | Love Above All

When I think of The Empire State Building, I can't help but think of Sleepless in Seattle.  I remember seeing that movie on tv when I was about 12 or 13.  The Empire State Building at the end, with its bright red heart shining through the windows ... Annie's excitement as she races towards it ... her desperate plea to check the top ... Sam's shock when he sees her for the first time ... to little ol' me, that scene and The Empire State Building symbolized the epitome of romance.  In fact, I'm pretty sure that's when I first fell in love with New York City.  And now, three lucky couples will have the opportunity to have their wedding or vow renewal at the top of the Empire State Building ... on Valentine's Day.  How awesome is that?

The Empire State Building partnered up with Red Envelope and ProFlowers to make the Hollywood romance possible in real life, and Red Envelope contacting me to help spread the word and share a little wedding gift wish list.  To enter, couples just need to submit a personal video by December 5th about why they want to get married at the top of the Empire State Building (um ... because it's freaking cool?).  That deadline is just two days away so if you'd like to enter, get those video cameras out and get to it!  And once you've submitted the video, stop by and browse for some gifts for your registry over at Red Envelope.

If any of you guys win, you can thank me by taking me along to photograph the whole affair.  We'll make sure it's one to remember.*

*I couldn't let the post end without a little nod to the tragically romantic inspiration for Sleepless in Seattle, An Affair to Remember.  So good!

I was not paid or compensated in any way for this post.  I just think it's a pretty cool opportunity so I wanted to share it with all of you lovely folks. :)

  1. Oooh, ooh! We received the vineyard sign for the wedding (but as art instead of a lazy susan, which is super cool!) and love it! Red Envelope has such lovely things. And yes, getting married atop the Empire State Building would be awesome! "Sleepless In Seattle" is one of my all-time favorite movies (along with "You've Got Mail," because really). Love!
