iPhone 4th of July

Well, hello lovelies!  Hope you all had a great holiday weekend (and for the non-USA'ers, I hope you had a great regular weekend).  Ours was pretty packed for just four days.  We spent the 4th in Sonoma, headed back to SF on Friday for a wedding dress fitting and an appointment to pick up our marriage license (yay!), then headed off to Truckee for an engagement session and some time up in the mountains.  It was a lot to cram into just four days but oh, man was it worth it.

With the exception of the engagement session Saturday evening (a gorgeous one, I might add!), I found myself reaching for my iPhone more frequently than my camera.  I mainly just didn't want to drop my camera in the pool, lug it around in 100-degree weather, or bang it up while playing on the mountain in Truckee, but my iPhone and the latest VSCO Cam app proved to be the perfect tools to capture the weekend.

1. The firemen were kind enough to cool down the Sonoma crowd after the 4th of July Parade.  Considering it was nearly 100 degrees that day, the water hose was a big hit!

2. Pool noodle toes, anyone?

3. The Fancy Fiance's grandmother - This was her first time reading People magazine and she had no idea it was pretty much just celebrity gossip.  When asked whether there were any good reads in there she said, "Well, no.  It's just a bunch of gossip!"

4. You'd be worn out too if it was your 92nd 4th of July celebration.

5. City Hall, picking up our marriage license! (Post coming soon on how to make the process as painless as possible.)

6. Five Lakes (which is really only two lakes...).  Very refreshing after a 5-mile roundtrip hike.

How was your holiday weekend?

PS - My apologies if you already saw these on Instagram. :)

  1. I'm so jealous of how sunny and gorgeous your weekend was! it rained for three days straight over here. :( kind of a bummer 4th of July in my book.

  2. I lol'd at that noodle-toe photo when I saw it on Insta. Looks like a great weekend! Ours was rainy =(

  3. It looks like you had a great weekend! Your hike sounds so great, I was up in Tahoe this weekend, it was so nice! I especially love the picture of the fire trucks spraying in the streets after the parade!

  4. Oh marriage license what?! Congratulations my dear!

  5. loved all these photos, particularly the one about the 92nd 4th of July. so exciting for your fitting and license - congrats!

  8. Great shots and I know what you mean when you just can't be bothered to carry the camera around anymore. We've had a much shorter weekend here, but it was hot and sunny and we decided to simply relax and enjoy summer... :-)
