Summer Wish List | Sandals

For most of my life, I've been perfectly happy wearing cheap flip flops from May through September (October outside of Chicago).  It's okay.  I didn't mind.  My feet are a little *ahem* wide, so the only flip flops that really fit comfortably and didn't make me feel like my feet were hanging off the sides of the soles were the $5 flip flops from Old Navy.  But I didn't care.  I just bought a pair in every color.  Well, every neutral color.  Brown, black, gray, tan, gold, silver, bronze.  They were five bucks and I was either a student or a nanny or both depending on the time of year so what did I care?

Well, I'm not a student anymore.  Mama's all growed up now.  I have a law degree, a business, and a 3 as the first digit in my age.  Five dollar rubber flippies just aren't cutting it for me these days.  I want grown up summer shoes.  Little wedges that go just as nicely with skinnies and a lightweight tee as they do with a lovely summer sun dress.  Sandals that Molly can't mistake for a chew toy and leave little guinea pig teeth marks in.  Summer shoes like these, perhaps.

1. These Helena Sandals are just the right mix of comfy, casual, and chic.  How perfectly versatile.

2. How about a long, flowy, gauzy skirt and simple plain white tee to go with these Espadrille Wedges?

3. I'm a little bit in love with these Toms Splatter Wedges.  You'd think that many colors would be overwhelming but it's actually quite lovely.  And they'd probably go with just about any summer outfit so it's kind of a win-win, right?

4. And last but most certainly not least, how cute are these yellow-to-nude T-Strap flats?  Oh, and by the way, they're waterproof.  Waterproof, people!!  Which means they're basically super adorable flats that provide the perfect alternative to a rain boot in warm summer thunderstorm.  I mean, what more could you ask for in a summer shoe?  (Anthro has them in other colors, too, in case you were curious. . . )

Anything here catch your eye?

Happy Weekend!!!

  1. Oh, I do like these. I'm always joking that I have feet like ferries because they're so big and wide, but I'm actually not very happy about it as most shoes really are cut for dainty, slim feet. It's not even like I could diet myself into a pair of shoes... Birkenstocks tend be my go-to sandals for the summer, not always the prettiest, but they're so comfy and a little more "dressy" than $5 flip-flops ;-) Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the sunshine xo

  4. Like you, I've had to bid the days of cheap Old Navy flip-flops goodbye! I treat my feet much kinder as a 27-year-old than I did as an 18-year-old, that's for sure. :) I love No. 4 the best, but they're all adorable!

  5. I have a 3 as the first digit of my age too, but can I still have at least a few pairs of cheap-o rubber flip flops?! :)

I am loving numbers 2 & 4. I have a pair of sandals with bright yellow in my list too. I must be on a yellow kick. I love that those yellow/nude sandals are waterproof too!
