San Carlos de Borromeo de Carmelo Mission | a.k.a Carmel Mission

A few weeks ago, I shot an engagement session at the mission in Carmel (<-- photos coming soon!).  The mission is about two / two and a half hours from San Francisco.  Since I had no idea what traffic would be like, I decided to leave a bit early.  Turns out there's barely any traffic from San Francisco to Carmel on a Sunday afternoon so I ended up arriving about half an hour earlier than my clients.  I used the extra time to explore the mission and, though a lot of it was covered by scaffolding set up for renovations, managed to find quite a few lovely details.

I love when I have time to explore a new location and discover its unique little details.  The Carmel Mission has an equally gorgeous chapel (it would be beautiful for a wedding venue, if you're looking for one) but mass was in service while we were there so I didn't take any photos.

  1. I absolutely love visiting missions. It was one of my favorite places in my hometown of Sonoma
