Friday Feature | Crochet Addict

Happy Friday friends!  I have a very lovely lady to introduce to you today.  She's the winner of Mish's ginormous giveaway, which means she'll be spending a few months hanging out over there on the right. -->

Her name is Sue and I have a feeling you guys will love getting to know her.  Her little neck of the interweb is called Crochet Addict.  Crocheting is both a therapeutic and creative outlet in Sue's life.  You could say it's one of her mushrooms. :)

She features all her adorable crocheted creations on her blog and generously offers free patterns as well.  Sue first started crocheting for a very interesting reason, but I'll let her tell you more about it.

Hi! I'm Sue, also know as Crochet Addict.

I would like to say a huge thank you to Stephanie for having me.

I became a crochet addict in February, 2011, and love the fact that the art is spreading around the world and becoming popular again.  It amazes me how you can see one of the stars in something that costs over $500 and I can make it for less than $10.

I use my blog to show off my projects, designs, and reviews of other people's crochet patterns.  I use it to promote and support handmade things.  I love the fact that something handmade has so much more meaning, thought, and care in it.  I share my journey through life, loves, family, and reading.  I also find giveaways for my followers every week and host my own giveaway whenever possible.

As I said, I've been crocheting since February 2011.  I suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, among other things.  One of the symptoms I suffer from is pins and needles in my hands.  Doctors wanted to increase my medication but I decided to do a bit of research first.  That's when I discovered crocheting.  Crocheting helps me in so many ways.  The pins and needles are reduced as the nerves are being stimulated.  You get such a buzz when you finish a project and when someone compliments you, it makes your day 100% better.

I learnt to crochet from a video on YouTube.  I decided to make my son a teddy bear.  Now he isn't perfect but my son loves him lots!  I bounced about a bit and made lots of different things but nothing really fixated me.  Then my son saw a picture of a dinosaur hat and asked if I could make him one.  I decided to jump in feet first and design my first hat and scarf set.  Now this is when I became the real addict.  I hope you'll come visit!
