Shortly before the holidays, we met up with some friends for beers at Cervezeria de MateVeza. The quirky little Argentinian bar is located in the Mission District, across the street from Dolores Park. A few of the signature yerba mate beers are brewed on site and are absolutely delicious. The signature beers are brewed with South American yerba mate tea, which adds a natural bit of caffeine to the brew. You know what that means - beer for breakfast! Just kidding ... sorta. Actually, I'm not usually much of a beer drinker but these were so yummy I had two - and some of The Boyfriend's!
They also offer at least 6 different types of empanadas and a couple sweets for dessert. I didn't try the food when I was there (too distracted by the delish brews and crying velvet Elvis paintings) but that's okay - it gives me an excuse to go back!
If you're ever in San Francisco and looking to quench your thirst or fill your belly, I'd highly recommend a stop at Cervezeria de MateVeza.
(And feel free to invite me along!)
