On My Mind This Monday

I woke up at 3:30 this morning.

No reason in particular.  No bad dreams, no flight to catch.  Just ... woke up.

I hate when that happens.

I laid in bed for a while, staring at the dark ceiling.

Then the ceiling got boring so I turned on my light and read a magazine.  I thought that would put me back to sleep but, alas, no.

Then I realized I needed to tell you something.  Last night, I made more potato soup for dinner.

Because it's just so yummy and I can't get enough.

But this time, I cooked up a few strips of bacon and crumbled them on top.  Best.decision.ever.

Bacon makes everything better.

When The Boyfriend tried the first bite, he said, "Oh my god.  I'm the luckiest man in the world."

And when I woke up at that ungodly hour of 3:30 in the a.m., the apartment still smelled like bacon.

  1. I ALWAYS put bacon in potato soup. Actually, I put it in everything. It's a rule.

  2. Bacon and chocolate (though not necessarily together!) make everything better! I put bacon into my pea soup which gives it a great smoky flavour. Have a great week and a wonderful Thanksgiving xo

  7. Mmmmm... bacon! It really does make everything better, plus I'm almost convinced it's the way to a man's heart. ;)

I need to remember your "On My Mind This Monday" posts. I haven't been blogging a lot lately and can use some inspiration. It's nice getting some insight into others' random thoughts. (:

  8. This is too funny, I made potato soup with bacon last Friday! It is good on its own, but the bacon definitely helps a lot!

And yes, the smell of bacon lingers around for a long time afterwards!
