Have you guys seen these retro weight gain ads? Yes, weight gain. The funny thing about it is, I think the girls in the pictures look normal-sized. Am I the only one?

Umm wow - I don't know if this is looking at a glass half empty / full thing.
Nowadays - ads tell us to lose weight from our normal self.
Back then - ads told women it's okay to gain weight, which you're right, when women "gained weight" they totally looked normal to me.
lol - "good news for the THOUSANDS of girls who don't have sex appeal". (emphasis added). good to know society has always been looking out for us and telling us what to do to be sexy and appeal to men - the be all and end all for any woman ;)
That is hilarious. It's not new news that women have never been comfortable with their body image - just interesting to see how it evolves. I wonder what the "trend" will be in 50 years
Wow, yes those girls definitely look 'normal' sized. What in the world. Like Rooth said.. just goes to show you that women are never happy with their body. Such a shame.

It's funny how the patterns have changed. If you look at the magazines from the 90's, you'll see how the women were a little curvier. That's when photoshop is bad - a lot of girls don't realize how processed pictures are in the magazine these days. It's an unreal conception of beauty!
What's wrong with being the shape that God created us? We are special and unique and perfect the way we are. No improvement needed!
It's so weird how times change. People just need to focus on being healthy and being the shape that is intended for their bodies. The end.

They definitely look "normal!" It's sort of depressing how society has changed in this aspect...
