On Saturday, we lounged around in pajamas until about 1pm then headed out to try the first stop on our SF Summer Ice Cream Tour. (I found this list of San Francisco's Top 5 Ice Cream Shops so naturally The Boyfriend and I decided we're going to try all 5 this summer. I mean, who wouldn't?) Our first stop was Humphry Slocombe. The Boyfriend had Secret Breakfast - bourbon ice cream with corn flakes. Amazing. I got Chocolate Smoked Sea Salt. Heavenly. I could eat that everyday if it weren't so devilishly rich.
We headed up to Mt. Tamalpais on Sunday for a lovely 6-mile hike, but not before stopping for donuts and coffee at Dynamo Donuts. If you want to experience true bliss, you have to try the Maple Glazed Bacon Apple. Just trust me on this one. I'll try to get a picture of it for you on another visit but there's not really much time between the noms.
And yesterday, we celebrated Memorial Day by hanging out in the garage with our neighbors and eating hot dogs, fruit, and freshly brewed beer. I have a special place in my heart for good ol' fashioned hot dogs. I like mine with just mustard, ketchup, and relish. And I like to really pour it on, too, so when I take a bite the toppings ooze out over the top. Hot dogs remind me of baseball games, lemonade, and playing on a Slip 'N Slide in my grandma's backyard. They just scream summer to me.
